Police today said the bodies of Bondhu Gopal Pal, a 35-year-old primary school teacher, his pregnant wife Beauty and son Angan were found lying in a pool of blood inside their residence on Tuesday.
It was presumed that Bondhu Gopal Pal and his family members were murdered by unidentified miscreants on Monday night. After locals could not see them at the puja pandal on Vijaya Dashami, they visited the deceased's residence only to find the door bolted from inside.
The locals then informed the police and the bodies were recovered.An investigation has been initiated in the case, police added.The locals said the teacher along with his family moved to Jiaganj around six years ago.
Murshidabad (South) BJP leader Humayun Kabir claimed Pal was an RSS member.Meanwhile, a teachers' organization has threatened to launch an agitation if the police failed to nab the culprits.
"We have started a murder case but are yet to get a clue about the motive of the murder. We are talking with the family members of the deceased and some other persons to extract details that could provide us with some clues," said Barun Baidya, sub-divisional police officer,
