Tihar Jail constitutes panel over reported liquor serving to inmates

New Delhi: Taking note of a media report regarding alleged serving of liquor to prisoners in Delhi's Tihar Jail, the authorities constituted a panel to probe the matter.
 
The committee headed by a DIG level officer will investigate the matter and submit the report within 10 days, a Tihar Jail official told UNI.
 
The inquiry has been initiated after media reports regarding alleged serving of liquor to inmates in Tihar jail.
 
"It is a high security jail where serving liquor to prisoners is not possible. But since the media came up with such a report, the jail authority took cognisance of it and initiated an inquiry," said the official. (UNI)
