Apple's First Foldable iPhone Could Arrive This Year, May Feature 12GB RAM and 5,800mAh Battery
Apple’s first foldable iPhone could reportedly make its debut this year, although the company has yet to officially confirm either the device or its launch timeline. Speculation around Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market has been circulating for years, and fresh claims from luxury smartphone maker Caviar have added further fuel to the rumours.
According to Caviar, the alleged premium foldable iPhone could come with a large battery, a powerful next-generation processor and an advanced camera setup. If these reported specifications turn out to be accurate, Apple’s first foldable could set a new benchmark for design and hardware in the premium foldable smartphone segment.
iPhone Fold Could Feature A20 Pro Chip
Caviar claims that Apple’s foldable iPhone could be powered by the company’s next-generation A20 Pro chipset and paired with 12GB of RAM.
If true, the combination could give the device performance closer to that of a high-end tablet, particularly for multitasking and demanding applications. However, Apple has not officially confirmed either the A20 Pro chip or the development of a foldable iPhone.
48MP Dual Rear Cameras Expected
The camera system could also receive a major upgrade. According to Caviar, the foldable iPhone may feature two 48MP cameras on the rear.
The cameras are reportedly expected to support spatial photography and video recording. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera could reportedly be a 24MP under-display camera.
If Apple adopts an under-display camera, the foldable display could be free of both a notch and a punch-hole cutout. However, how Apple could accommodate such a large battery while maintaining a slim and compact foldable design remains an open question.
