Jharkhand: Bride calls off marriage after baratis fight over mutton
A bride in Jharkhand refused to marry after baratis indulged into fight with her family over mutton and groom left the mandap.
The incident took place in Govindpurtand village of Choparan division in Hazaribagh district.
After Jaimala, the baratis went for dinner. An argument broke out between the families of groom and bride after delay in serving mutton curry. The dispute turned into violent brawl between the families and the groom fled the venue with some of his friends.
After police interference, the groom agreed to return to the mandap for marriage but the bride declined to marry him. The marriage was called off and the barat returned empty handed.
