Telangana Municipal Elections: Bomb Explodes in Youth’s Hand During Campaign Stunt (VIDEO)
A municipal election campaign in Telangana’s Peddapalli district turned tragic after a firework bomb exploded during a rally in Sultanabad, leaving a young party worker seriously injured.
Political parties intensified campaigning ahead of the municipal elections, with rallies and public events being organised across the region. During one such campaign event in Sultanabad, party workers were bursting firework shots to welcome their leader.
According to reports, these “bomb shots” are typically placed on the ground before being lit. However, in a moment of overenthusiasm, a young party worker reportedly held a carton of lit firework shots in his hand and raised it above his head. Moments later, a bomb exploded inside the carton.
The powerful blast caused severe injuries to the worker’s palm and fingers, triggering panic among those present at the rally. Fellow party workers and local residents immediately rushed to his aid and shifted him to a nearby hospital.
Due to the seriousness of his injuries, the victim was later referred to a major hospital in Karimnagar for advanced medical treatment. The injured party worker is said to be in stable condition, though doctors have indicated that a lengthy surgery may be required to save his hand.
Police took note of the incident and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the blast.
