Hyundai, Jio-bp Partner to Expand EV Charging Network Across India

Hyundai
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a partnership with Jio-bp to integrate their electric vehicle charging networks, aiming to improve charging accessibility and convenience for EV users across India.

Under the collaboration, Hyundai EV customers will be able to discover and access Jio-bp pulse charging stations through the myHyundai app, allowing users to access a wider charging network through a single digital platform.

With the integration of Jio-bp pulse, the myHyundai app will provide access to more than 37,000 public EV charging points across the country.

Jio-bp currently operates more than 7,000 active charging points across over 300 cities. Several of its charging stations are located along major national highways, helping support long-distance travel for electric vehicle users.

The network includes DC fast chargers ranging from 60 kW to 480 kW and has a reported uptime of 96 per cent.

As part of the partnership, HMIL's high-capacity charging stations will also be gradually integrated into the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app, further expanding access for EV users.

Hyun Sup Lee, Executive Director and Function Head of Corporate Planning at HMIL, said the partnership aims to provide customers with a more seamless and worry-free electric mobility experience.

“As we continue to expand our EV product line-up in India, we are witnessing a shift in customer concerns from range anxiety to charging anxiety,” he said.

Lee added that integrating the two charging networks would help simplify the charging experience for Hyundai EV owners.

Jio-bp Chairman Sarthak Behuria said the partnership would help strengthen confidence in India's transition towards electric mobility by making charging infrastructure more accessible, dependable and future-ready.

Jio-bp CEO Akshay Wadhwa said the company's pulse network offers high-uptime charging stations and fast-charging technology, and the integration with Hyundai's digital platform would make it easier for EV users to access the network.

The myHyundai app is available to electric vehicle users regardless of their vehicle brand, enabling them to locate and access public charging stations through a single interface.

HMIL currently operates 183 DC fast-charging stations and plans to expand its proprietary charging network to 600 stations by 2030.

The two companies will also explore customer-focused offers aimed at improving the overall EV ownership experience.

Hyundai said the collaboration marks another step towards strengthening India's EV charging ecosystem and supporting the wider adoption of sustainable mobility across the country. ALSO READ: Tata Motors to Hike Car, SUV and EV Prices by Up to Rs 25,000 from September 1
