Honda QC3 vs Honda Activa e: Battery, Range, Features, Which Electric Scooter Is More Practical?
Honda has recently introduced its new family-oriented electric scooter, the Honda QC3, in the Indian market. The company claims that the scooter offers a longer riding range and improved practicality for everyday users. Meanwhile, the Honda Activa e is already available with a swappable battery technology, offering a different approach to electric mobility.
Let's compare both electric scooters and understand their major differences.
Battery and Range
The biggest difference between the two scooters lies in their battery setup.
The Honda QC3 comes with a fixed battery pack, while the Honda Activa e uses two removable/swappable battery packs. However, both scooters have a combined battery capacity of 3 kWh.
In terms of range, the Honda QC3 claims an IDC-certified range of 145 km on a single charge. The Honda Activa e, on the other hand, offers a claimed IDC range of 102 km. ALSO READ: Electric Scooters with Low Seat Height: 7 Best Options for Short Riders in City Traffic
Charging Technology
The Honda QC3 supports conventional charging and can be charged from 0 to 80% in around 2 hours and 40 minutes using a fast charger.
The Honda Activa e follows a different approach with its swappable battery system. Its batteries cannot be charged at home and need to be exchanged at Honda's designated battery-swapping stations.
Biggest Difference: Storage and Practicality
Both electric scooters come equipped with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. However, the Activa e additionally gets a Combined Braking System (CBS) for improved braking safety.
The biggest difference between the two models is the storage space.
The Honda QC3 offers 32 litres of under-seat storage, allowing users to easily keep a helmet and other daily essentials. In comparison, the Honda Activa e does not offer under-seat storage due to its swappable battery setup, which may reduce its practicality for everyday use. Features
Both scooters come equipped with modern features, including:
- LED lighting
- 5-inch TFT display
- Bluetooth connectivity
- USB charging port
These features make both models suitable for urban commuters looking for connected and convenient riding experiences.
Suspension and Braking Setup
Both electric scooters feature telescopic front forks.
- Honda QC3: Twin rear shock absorbers
- Honda Activa e: Mono-shock rear suspension
Honda QC3 vs Honda Activa e: Which One Is More Practical?
The Honda QC3 appears to have an advantage for users looking for higher range, better storage space, and home charging convenience. Meanwhile, the Honda Activa e's swappable battery technology could appeal to riders who prefer quick battery replacement over waiting for charging.
The better choice will depend on individual needs — the QC3 focuses more on everyday practicality, while the Activa e offers a unique battery-swapping solution. ALSO READ: Electric Scooter Care in Monsoon: 5 Important Tips to Protect Your EV Battery
