Ahaan Panday Turns Gangster in Ali Abbas Zafar’s High-Octane Action Romance

Actor Ahaan Panday
Ahaan Panday is set for a dramatic transformation in his second film, taking on the role of a gangster in an upcoming action romance directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Backed by Yash Raj Films, the film will see Panday portray a fierce and intense character caught in a battle for love, marking a significant shift from his previous role in Saiyaara, where he played a troubled musician grappling with emotional trauma.

To prepare for the role, Panday has reportedly undergone rigorous training in hand-to-hand combat and weapon handling to convincingly embody the raw and aggressive persona of a gangster.

The film also stars Sharvari Wagh as the female lead, while Aaishvary Thackeray plays the main antagonist. Bobby Deol will be seen in a pivotal role, and Jimmy Shergill joins the cast, marking his return to Yash Raj Films more than two decades after Mohabbatein.

While the storyline remains under wraps, the project is expected to be a stylish, large-scale action entertainer—true to Zafar’s filmmaking style. Production began on April 3 in Mumbai and will continue there through April before moving to London in May for the next schedule. The makers aim to wrap up filming by July, targeting a theatrical release in early 2027.

Additionally, Panday is reportedly in discussions for another major project backed by Aditya Chopra and directed by Aanand L Rai.
