Mumbai: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is set to explore the horror genre for the first time after officially joining the cast of 'Tumbbad 2', the highly anticipated sequel to Sohum Shah's acclaimed horror-fantasy film.
The announcement was made through a joint social media post by Sohum Shah, Alia Bhatt, and Amita Suresh Shah. The post featured behind-the-scenes photos from their announcement shoot, showcasing the camaraderie between the cast members.

Released in 2018, 'Tumbbad', directed by Rahi Anil Barve, became a cult classic for its unique blend of mythology, folklore and horror. The film revolved around a man's relentless pursuit of a hidden treasure protected by the mythical deity Hastar. Its gripping narrative, haunting visuals and exceptional cinematography earned widespread critical acclaim and a loyal fan following.
