‘Hanuman Ansh’ Crosses Rs 250 Crore at Box Office
Spiritual drama “Hanuman Ansh”, inspired by the life and teachings of revered spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba, has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film centres on Lakshminarayan, a man struggling with grief following the death of his mother. His loss sets him on a spiritual quest as he searches for a deeper understanding of God.
As per trade tracker Sacnilk, the film has collected Rs 253.55 crore in gross earnings, while its net domestic collection stands at Rs 214.63 crore.
Rs 2 Crore Film Turns Into Box Office Success
“Hanuman Ansh” was reportedly produced on a budget of only around Rs 2 crore. The film arrived in cinemas on August 7 and had a relatively slow start.
Its collections remained modest during the first two weeks before gaining momentum, with positive audience word-of-mouth helping the film attract more viewers.
The cast includes Shobhinaw Satya in the lead role, along with Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and Bhagvandas Patel.
Who Was Neem Karoli Baba?
Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Neeb Karori Baba, was born around 1900 in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district. He died in 1973.
He was married at a young age but later left his family life and travelled as a wandering ascetic. Over the years, he gained followers in India and abroad.
Among the well-known personalities associated with him are actress Julia Roberts and cricketers Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg have also reportedly visited his ashram at Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand.
