Despite lukewarm critic reviews and chin music of netizen for a call to boycott movie for various reasons, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer movie Laxmii has broken viewership record.

The horror-comedy, made under the banners of Cape Of Good Films, Shabinaa Entertainment and Tusshar Entertainment House, was premiered on November 9 on Disney+ Hotstar and with in hours its viewership skyrocketed.

Disney hotstar has claimed that it has supassed the views of late Sushant Singh Rahput starrer movie "Dil Bechara" which is a big feat in itself.It is to be noted that Laxmii is a remake of a Tamil movie “Kanchana” that has been watched by people quite a few times on television.
