Renowned Malayalam actor and National Award winner Salim Kumar passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on Saturday night while undergoing treatment for pneumonia, family sources confirmed. He was 56.

The veteran actor breathed his last at around 10:43 pm on Saturday.

Salim Kumar's remarkable journey from Kerala's mimicry stage circuit to becoming one of Malayalam cinema's most beloved and versatile actors earned him widespread admiration and critical acclaim. Known for his impeccable comic timing and memorable performances, he carved a unique place in the hearts of audiences across generations.
