The cult classic cinema The Bengal Files has been selected in Indian Panorama and would be premiered in the upcoming IFFI, International Film Festival scheduled to be organised in Goa. The festival is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, showcasing a diverse lineup of films and cinematic talent from across the globe.This year’s edition will feature over 240 films from 81 countries, including 13 world premieres, four international premieres, and 46 Asian premieres. Organisers revealed that IFFI 2025 received a record 2,314 film submissions from 127 countries, underscoring its growing international prominence.Besides, The filmmaker has also announced the OTT release of The Bengal Files. The movie would be premiere on 21st November on ZEE 5.The Bengal Files, which has stirred multiple controversies, particularly in Bengal, revisits the Direct Action Day riots of 1946, the Noakhali and Tippera massacres, and the human cost of Partition, which displaced nearly 20 million people and claimed two million lives.Technically polished and narratively layered, the film combines compelling performances, detailed period recreation, and tightly written dialogues to immerse viewers in a turbulent era.Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the film boasts a formidable ensemble cast featuring Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar and has been jointly produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi under the banners of Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha.
