COVID-19: Maharashtra reports 2,678 new cases, 8 deaths
Mumbai: Maharashtra has reported 2,678 fresh Covid-19 cases, according to a health bulletin released on Friday.
The state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 79,95,729, while the overall toll stood at 1,47,964 with eight new deaths reported.
The bulletin said 3,238 patients were cured of the virus and discharged, taking the recovery count to 78,28,352.
The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.91 per cent and fatality rate stood at 1.85 per cent.
So far 8,22,63,482 total samples were investigated in the state of them 79,95,729 were tested as positive ie. 9.72 per cent.
Presently, there are 19,413 active Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals, it added.
Meanwhile, no positive cases were reported across in the two districts of Marathwada region, the bulletin said. (UNI)
