Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Critical, Unconscious: Intelligence Memo Claims

Mojtaba Khamenei health
Amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel, a major leadership crisis is reportedly unfolding in Iran. According to unverified intelligence inputs, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is said to be critically injured and unconscious.

Following the reported death of Ali Khamenei, leadership responsibilities were allegedly passed on to his son Mojtaba Khamenei. However, recent reports suggest that his condition is extremely serious. He is believed to be unconscious and undergoing treatment at a hospital in Qom, one of Iran’s holiest cities.

According to a diplomatic memo, understood to be based on US and Israeli intelligence and shared with Gulf allies, Mojtaba Khamenei is in a critical state and may be unable to make decisions. However, there has been no official confirmation from Iranian authorities, and experts caution that such reports during wartime could also be part of psychological operations.

First Details About Location Emerge

The intelligence memo reportedly states that Mojtaba Khamenei may have been severely injured in a missile strike and could be in a coma or suffering from paralysis, rendering him incapable of leadership duties.

Reports of Mausoleum Construction

The report further claims that a large mausoleum is being constructed in Qom, where Ali Khamenei and his family members may be buried. It is speculated that Mojtaba Khamenei could also be laid to rest there, though such claims remain unverified.

Earlier, Iran had acknowledged that Mojtaba was injured in the same airstrike that reportedly killed his father, along with his mother and wife Zahra Haddad Adel. There were initial claims that he had been moved to Russia for treatment in Moscow, but later statements from the Russian ambassador suggested he remained within Iran.

Since being named as Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei has not made any public appearances. Statements attributed to him have been read on television, and a video allegedly showing him has circulated online, though some observers have questioned its authenticity, suggesting it could be AI-generated.

How Did Mojtaba Survive the Airstrike?

Reports claim Mojtaba narrowly escaped death during US-Israeli airstrikes, as he had stepped out into his garden just minutes before missiles struck his residence. The attack reportedly targeted him along with his father and other family members.

Recent Statement Issued

Just a day earlier, Mojtaba Khamenei had issued a public statement mourning the death of Major General Majid Khadami, the intelligence chief of the Revolutionary Guard. In a message posted on social media, he described Khadami as having joined the ranks of “martyrs and fighters who sacrificed their lives.”

Meanwhile, tensions continue to escalate. US President Donald Trump warned on Monday that Iran could be “destroyed in one night” and that such action “could happen tomorrow night,” as Washington’s ultimatum over the Strait of Hormuz draws near. Speaking to the media, Trump said Iran faces severe consequences if it fails to reopen the waterway by his deadline of Tuesday 8pm EST.
