India Condemns Attack on Indian Ship off Oman Coast
India on Thursday strongly condemned the attack on an Indian-flagged commercial ship off the coast of Oman on May 13, 2026, terming the incident “unacceptable” and warning against continued threats to civilian maritime activity.
The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that all Indian crew members on board are safe. The crew was rescued with the assistance of Omani authorities, whom India thanked for their prompt and effective response.
In an official statement, the government reiterated its firm stance on maritime security, emphasising that attacks on commercial vessels and civilian sailors violate international norms and must be prevented. It also underscored the need to ensure freedom of navigation and the smooth flow of global trade.
