2 arrested for attacking foreign students at Gujarat university
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested two people in connection with the alleged assault on foreign students for offering namaz in the hostel of Gujarat University.
Police said on Sunday that Hiteshbhai Ra, a resident of Ahmedabad, was arrested in this case.
Mewada and Bharatbhai Da Patel have also been arrested. According to reports, foreign students were allegedly beaten up by some people for offering namaz in the hostel of Gujarat University late on Saturday night.
Two foreign students were injured in the incident. He was admitted to the hospital. One of the students has been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
An FIR has been registered against 20–25 people, and nine teams have been formed for a detailed probe into the incident. Others involved in the case will be arrested soon, police said.
