Patna: In a tragic incident, Aayan, son of Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmad Khan, committed suicide in the Gardanibagh locality of Patna on Monday.
Aayan, the only son of Khan, was found dead this morning in a room at the official residence of his father. When Aayan did not respond to the call, the door of his room was broken, where he was found dead to the utter surprise of family members.

"Aayan has committed suicide, and the case is being investigated to ascertain the reason behind his taking the extreme step," police said, adding that the body would be sent for postmortem. A team of forensic experts had also been called for an on-the-spot investigation, police informed.
Khan, who is also the leader of the Congress legislative party in the Bihar assembly, was in Ahmedabad when the incident took place. He returned to Patna on being informed about the incident.

Leaders of Congress and other political parties visited the official residence of Khan to console him. They expressed deep shock over the death of a young boy who was so intelligent and meritorious. Aayan had also met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his recent visit to Patna.
