Odisha STF nabs prime accused in leopard skin poaching

Bhubaneswar: An absconding wildlife criminal involved in leopard skin poaching was nabbed by the STF of Odisha police.

On the basis of intelligence input, the STF apprehended one Santosh Kumar Naik of Kashipur in Odisha’s Rayagada district in connection with the seizure of three leopard skins.

STF sources said on May 24 last three Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from the possession of one Dambrudhar Majhi under the Tikri police station limit of Rayagada district.

Santosh was the main accused, who had procured the Leopard skins along with accused Dambrudhar Majhi and during the raid he was absconded from the spot.

The accused has been arrested and will be forwarded to the court of SDJM, Rayagada on Saturday, STF sources said. (UNI)
