Tiger kills elderly man in Chandrapur, Maharashtra
Chandrapur/Nagpur: A 75- year-old man was killed by a tiger in the forest of Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district, a senior forest official told UNI on Saturday.According to the official Jagan Panse, the resident of Lakhapur village, had ventured into the forest area to collect firewood on Friday. However, he did not return home.His body was found in the forest this morning, the official said.
The official further said that Pande's body was sent to the hospital for a post-mortem.An initial compensation of Rs 20,000/- has been given to the family of Panse.This was the fourth incident of man-animal conflict in the past two months.(UNI)
