Madhya Pradesh Powers Up Semiconductor Ambitions with MPSEDC–SEMI India MoU and IESA’s Industry ecosystem support.
SEMI India and The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Madhya Pradeshs semiconductor and electronics ecosystem at the Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Summit 2026, held in Indore on October 23–24. A key milestone was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SEMI India and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (MPSEDC), a Government of Madhya Pradesh undertaking under the Department of Science and Technology to set up a framework for further collaboration on ecosystem development and investment promotion in the state. The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Honble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Indias semiconductor effort is moving from individual projects to a connected value chain, with Semicon 2.0 now approved and states competing to build clusters. Under the leadership of Honble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is pursuing a vision to become an important destination for semiconductor and advanced technology investments. The state aims to leverage its central location, industrial base around Indore and Pithampur, skilled talent and semiconductor policy framework to attract investment, strengthen industry–academia collaboration and create high-value employment.
Semiconductor growth built on credibility and capability
Addressing the summit as Guest of Honour, Ashok Chandak, President, SEMI India and IESA, said: “Indias ambition is not simply to catch up with the world, but to become a trusted partner in the global semiconductor value chain. Credibility, capability, commitment and policy continuity are the four pillars of success in this industry. Madhya Pradesh has important strengths to build upon, and the opportunity now is to translate its vision into investments, manufacturing capabilities, strategic partnerships and quality jobs.”
MPSEDC–SEMI India MoU to strengthen the ecosystem
Chips needs ecosystem, and this MoU lets Madhya Pradesh plug into SEMIs global industry network. For industry, it opens a structured channel to facilitate technology cooperation, identify opportunities across the semiconductor value chain, support policy dialogue and encourage collaboration in manufacturing, talent development and supply-chain.It also builds on IESAs earlier engagement with Madhya Pradesh, including its prior MoU with MPSEDC and its support for the States policy development.
Mr. Mahip, Managing Director, MPSEDC, said: “Madhya Pradesh is committed to building a strong and sustainable semiconductor and electronics ecosystem. Our collaboration with SEMI India and IESA will help connect the state with global industry leaders, identify investment opportunities and strengthen capabilities across manufacturing, design, advanced packaging and talent development.”
“By combining the states industrial strengths with SEMI Indias global network, we aim to create an enabling environment for investment, innovation and long-term growth.” said Mr. Chandak.
IESA leaders contribute to summit discussions
Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Summit 2026 carries forward the momentum of SEMICON India 2026, held in New Delhi on September 17-19, which brought together global semiconductor leaders, policymakers, investors and technology innovators.
The Madhya Pradesh summit extends this national momentum to the state level, with discussions spanning semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging and testing, chip design, electronics manufacturing, AI infrastructure and talent development.
IESA and SEMI India will continue to work with the Madhya Pradesh government and MPSEDC to connect global industry stakeholders, facilitate partnerships and support the development of the states semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.
