Mumbai: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi turned 46 on Monday.
Emraan began his career in the film industry as an assistant director in Vikram Bhatt's 2002 film 'Raaz'. He made his acting debut in the 2003 film 'Footpath', which did not do well at the box office but earned him critical acclaim.

Born on March 24, 1979, Emraan is the nephew of renowned filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. His father Anwar Hashmi was also an actor, who worked in the film 'Baharon Ki Manzil'. Emraan's mother Maherah Hashmi worked for a multinational company.
Emraan's grandmother Purnima was a popular actress in the 1940s.
