Power Couple Deverakonda and Mandanna starrer Ranabaali’s teaser released
The teaser of “Ranabaali”, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has been released, offering a glimpse into a largely untold chapter of Indian history.Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Rahul Sankrityayan, the film brings to the screen a chapter of Indian history that has not been widely narrated for a long time.
The films story is set against the backdrop of the devastating famine that struck Madras and several parts of South India during the years 1876-1878. Millions of people died during that period, and colonial policies and inadequate relief systems exacerbated the situation. “Ranabaali” reveals the story of the struggle, exploitation, and resilience of ordinary people during this historical period, despite their adversity.
In the film, Deverakonda plays Ranaabali, a Telugu man from the Rayalaseema region, while his real-life wife plays his on-screen better half, Jayamma. The pair will be seen in a different and raw avatar this time. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo plays the tyrannical British officer, Sir Theodore Hector, in the film.
