Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day Leaked Online
Marvel's latest blockbuster, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, was illegally leaked online, with copies of the film quickly spreading across multiple social media platforms before being removed.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie was released on Friday and has already collected more than USD 168 million at the worldwide box office.
According to entertainment outlet Variety, clips and full segments of the film were initially uploaded on X, where they were widely shared and reposted by several users before takedown notices were issued. A similar incident occurred recently when Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey was circulated online, prompting Universal Pictures to take action against the unauthorized uploads.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The story follows Peter Parker as he lives a solitary life after erasing himself from the memories of the people closest to him.
As Peter confronts a dangerous new adversary, he also struggles with unexpected physical changes brought on by the pressures of his life as a superhero.
The film sees Zendaya reprise her role as MJ, while Jacob Batalon returns as Ned. The cast also includes Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as Scorpion.
Produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the 38th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
