This sudden action by the GST department has created panic among those involved in anonymous fraud and tax evasion.
Gold, silver, and precious stones worth crores seized without legal evidence
During the preliminary investigation, the mobile squad recovered approximately 120 kilograms of silver, 700 grams of gold, and approximately 3 kilograms of precious stones (colored stones) from the vehicle. Strict stance against illegal trade and intensified investigation
The GST department has been conducting intensive checking operations in the state for some time to prevent tax evasion and curb illegal trade activities. According to GST officials, a detailed investigation will now be conducted to determine the true source of the seized valuable goods, their ownership, and at whose behest these transactions were being conducted. If the investigation proves tax evasion, strict legal action will be taken against those responsible.
