Universal Releases First Teaser for CoComelon: The Movie - WATCH
Universal Pictures has unveiled the first teaser trailer for CoComelon: The Movie, the big-screen adaptation of one of the world's most popular children's entertainment franchises. The animated feature is scheduled to arrive in theatres on February 19, 2027.
Originally launched as a nursery-rhyme channel on YouTube, CoComelon has grown into a global phenomenon, attracting billions of views every month and expanding into television shows, live-action productions, books and merchandise. The upcoming film marks the franchise's first theatrical release.
A magical adventure begins
The story follows JJ as he prepares for his first day of kindergarten. However, things take an unexpected turn when his beloved stuffed bear, Boba, disappears. Determined to find his companion, JJ sets off on an adventure with his friends Cody, CeCe and Nina. Their journey eventually leads them to a magical kingdom ruled by Princess Harmony, where singing has been forbidden.
Star-studded voice cast
Singer-songwriter SZA lends her voice to the character of Princess Harmony, while actor Nicholas Hoult voices Boba. Actor and comedian Ike Barinholtz joins the cast as Chicken Peels, Princess Harmony's loyal enforcer. The film also features performances from Sarah Sherman, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Rhys Darby, Matthew Friend and Cristo Fernández.
Production team behind the film
The movie is directed by Kat Good, who previously worked on projects such as Monsters at Work, Kung Fu Panda, Megamind and Penguins of Madagascar. Animation duties are being handled by the DNEG Group, while Moonbug Entertainment, Flywheel Media, Prime Focus Studios and DreamWorks Animation are producing the project. Universal Pictures will distribute the film worldwide.
Acclaimed songwriter Justin Tranter, known for collaborations with stars including Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and Dua Lipa, is serving as the executive music producer. The film will feature 10 original songs.
A global phenomenon heads to theatres
With availability in more than 80 countries and content in over 20 languages, CoComelon remains one of the biggest names in children's entertainment.
