Alia Bhatt starrer 'Alpha' preponed to avert clash with Moana
Twice after postponing spy thriller Alpha, the latest we hear is that Ali Bhat starrer will now be preponed & released on July 3 to avert a clash with animated movie Moana. Earlier the movie was scheduled to release on 10th July. Initially it was first expected to premiere on December 2025 & later April 2026.
‘Alpha’ marks a significant milestone for the YRF spy franchise as it becomes the first female-led action film within the cinematic universe that includes blockbuster titles like Pathaan, Ek Tha Tiger, and War.
Speaking about the project at the Red Sea International Film Festival last year, Alia Bhatt highlighted the significance of the film within the franchise.“Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that’s also a risk, because you’ve not historically seen perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed,” she said.
In the film, Bobby Deol will reportedly portray the primary antagonist. Early indications suggest that his character may initially appear as a mentor to Bhatt’s character before eventually turning into her adversary.
It is still unclear whether major characters from the spy universe, including Pathaan played by Shah Rukh Khan, Tiger portrayed by Salman Khan, or Kabir played by Hrithik Roshan, will make cameo appearances in the upcoming instalment.‘Alpha’ is directed by Shiv Rawail and continues the expansion of YRF’s blockbuster spy universe.
