Varun Dhawan to feature in Yash Raj Films first horror project
Yash Raj Films (YRF) is set to make its foray into the horror genre with a new feature film starring Varun Dhawan in the lead.“Rocket Boys” fame Abhay Pannu will handle the direction and screenplay and the film is planned to go on the floors later this year and will release in theatres worldwide in 2027.
Sources say that Yash Raj Films has produced films in almost every major genre, but horror was a genre the studio hadn’t ventured into. This film will be YRF’s first offering in that direction.
According to sources, Akshaye Widhani is strategically pursuing this film, which also furthers YRF’s strategy of giving opportunities to a new generation of filmmakers. Following the success of “Saiyaara,” the studio, under the guidance of Aditya Chopra, has been working with directors like Mohit Suri, Sameer Saxena and now Pannu.This will be Dhawan’s second outing with Yash Raj Films after “Sui Dhaaga”
