Yash reluctant to bind Toxic in any lingustic landscape
Rocking Star Yash has described his much-awaited film, ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, as a truly Indian project rather than one that should be confined to the label of Kannada cinema, emphasising that the film is the result of a collective effort involving talent from across the industry.
During the recent trailer launch of ‘Toxic’ in Bengaluru, Yash said, “This is not a Kannada film. This is an Indian film. All the people in it are talented. This is not just Yash’s film.” He said that the film was possible only because many successful and talented people have contributed to it. He said that successful artists from different fields have come together with the aim of taking the film to the global platform.
The 40-year-old actor said that making “Toxic” was extremely challenging. Many important decisions had to be made during the film’s production. He said, “This is not a commercial film. A lot of people have put in the hard work. Passion never goes waste. You’ll know that when you watch this film.”
Yash has also sparked excitement with his double role in the film. He will be seen in two distinct characters, adding to the story’s suspense and drama. The trailer’s glimpses of both his avatars have piqued audiences’ curiosity. The personalities and relationships between the two characters are considered crucial to the film’s narrative.

Managing the cast’s dates, locations, and all the production details involved in producing such a large-scale film was a difficult task. He explained that the film was shot in both Kannada and English, which added to the production process.

He said that during the shooting, news surfaced every 10 or 20 days about the film being shelved, shooting being halted, or the release date being postponed. He said, “I don’t know where they get these stories from, but it’s sad to read them.”
He said that it’s natural for a big-budget and large-scale project like “Toxic” to take time to produce. Balancing the film’s massive ensemble cast was also challenging.
Speaking about his decision to work under the direction of Geetu Mohandas, Yash said that he doesn’t look at a director’s track record before working with them. For him, the director’s hard work and passion are more important. He praised Geetu, saying that she is not only a brilliant actress and director, but also a wonderful writer.
The actor revealed that the film required him to step out of his comfort zone. He said that the role in “Toxic” was quite different from any other role he had played before, and that he had to dedicate a lot of time to it.
Yash also remembered the contributions of his wife, Radhika, during this time. He said that staying connected with her and managing her life wasn’t easy. “Toxic” was a demanding film, and Radhika supported him throughout, while also managing the responsibilities of family and children. Yash expressed his gratitude to his wife for this, saying that without her support, this journey wouldn’t have been easy.
